FAQ

What level of skill is needed for me to participate?
You need to be able to stay upwind, and re-launch your kite by yourself.

Does all inclusive really mean all inclusive?
It does not include domestic flgihts, domestic excess baggage and alcochol, so pack lightly and bring a bottle of duty free with you. Domestic flights will be confirmed with Air Raratonga shortly.

Do I bring my own kiteboarding equipment?
Yes, you need to bring your own gear. We will have some spare gear for people to trial during the week and in case of breakages.

Do I have to participate in all the competitions?
No, it is up to you, however you will be encouraged to participate, as people find once they get going they really enjoy it.

Is there any internet access at the resort? No.

What kite sizes should I bring?
It would be good to bring a big and small kite (something like 14m, and 9m). I will send out an e-mail a few days before the week with the wind forecast.

Do I need to bring my surf board and kite wave board?
No, there are no good surf breaks nearby. When the trades blow they blow solidly day and night.

Is there an age criteria?
You will need to be 16 or older. There is no upper age limit.

Can I bring my partner?
Not for the week but bring your family or friends for a week after the trip.

What will I need to bring?
Your kiting gear and minimal clothing.  Excess luggage is expensive and is transported on waitlist so best to pack just what you need to ensure your gear arrives the same day as you.

What will the weather be like?
Weather will be warm but we could have some rain so a light rain coat will be needed and long sleeves for those who don’t want to burn.

Bugs and Insects?
Yes, do remember to purchase insect repellant before you leave your home country as it is expensive in Aitutaki

Where is Aitutaki?
An hour flight north of the capital.  There are 1800 residents in Aitutaki spread around the main island in the lagoon.
